Jason Wright Announces the Endorsement of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz
Quitman, Texas – US Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, today announced his endorsement of Jason Wright who is running for Congress in Texas’ 5th Congressional District.
“I’m proud to endorse Jason Wright for Congress. Jason is a friend–and a strong, principled conservative–who has served on my team since I was first elected as a tremendously effective regional director in both Dallas and East Texas,” said Cruz.
He continued, “We desperately need principled reinforcements in Congress, and I know that Texans can trust Jason to keep his word and fight tirelessly to defend our conservative values. His business experience, common sense, and passionate love of liberty will make him a terrific Member of Congress. I urge Texans to send Jason to Washington to help us defend the Lone Star State.”
Jason Wright released the following statement on Senator Cruz’s endorsement:
“I am honored and humbled that Senator Cruz would endorse me in the race for the 5th Congressional District of Texas. Senator Cruz is a leader of the national conservative movement. From his time as a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Rehnquist, through his work as the Solicitor General of Texas, to his present efforts in the U.S. Capitol, Senator Cruz has fought tirelessly to uphold the Constitution and defend our liberties.”
“I was an early supporter of Senator Cruz’s candidacy because I saw someone I knew had the courage to do what he would say he would do. I am glad he sees that in me. I can make the same commitment he made to go to D.C. and fight to the voters in the 5th Congressional District of Texas. I look forward to earning their trust and support the same way I have earned Senator Cruz’s trust and support.”
Wright is a charter member of Senator Cruz’s staff, having served since the Senator was sworn in in 2013. Jason opened the East Texas Regional office in Tyler and then going on to serve as State Field Director for two years as well as North Texas Regional Director.
“I am lifted up by his faith in me and I look forward to joining him in the fight in Washington, D.C. as your next U.S. Representative.”
